Searching for a job

Looking for a new job is a lot of work and in today’s competitive market it is more challenging then ever. Our goal is to help make this process a little less painful and share any tips that may give you a competitive advantage.

The number one thing to think about is preparation! The amount of time and effort you put into every application and interview has a significant impact on your success ratio! When Stamford is representing you, we will work hard to ensure you are highly prepared for the entire process.

The Power of Networking

In today’s market, networking has become an even more instrumental key to your successful job search. If you think about, only about 30% of companies advertise all of their open positions, many others are placed by an agency or directly long before they are advertised. Start with people you know. Network with current colleagues, friends and members of associations you may be involved with. Connect with them on all social media channels and attend social events as often as possible. Attend trade shows where some of your target companies might be attending. Get out there and be seen!

Go ahead and send your CV to contacts you have. You never know when someone who is hiring might see it.

When you are actively looking for a job, you should make sure it is known. Make a list of people who may be able to help you and contact them directly. Make a list of potential companies you are interested in and see if there are people who work there you could connect with.
